Girl Shorts

I'm not very good at sewing clothes, as we all know, but I am determined to get better at it. So I started with an easy project. With a little help from mom I sewed these shorts for Lexi. I made them a few days ago, but I decided to add a little decoration to them. So today I used pink thread and a decorative stitch on my machine and sewed along the bottom of each leg.,then added a bow to the outside of each leg.

Headboard

Today Jeremy and I made this headboard for our bed. We've been wanting to make one for a while now, and we finally did it. Dad had some extra wood from his patio, so he cut us the piece of wood, and we went and picked out the fabric. It was really easy to make. We still need to put something on the back so we can hang it up, but I couldn't wait to post it.

Raw Edged Flannel Blanket

I bought some flannel for a blanket for Andrea's baby. I decided to try changing a pattern I had to make it raw edged. I don't think I'll do another this way- it took quite a bit of time. I hope you like it, Andrea.

Birthday Cards

Instead of buying cards for Daddy's birthday we made them. I made the outside with some of their favorite paper, and they decorated the inside with stickers. Beats spending $2-$3 on a card and much more entertaining. Plus, Daddy knows exactly who the card is from just by looking at the paper on the front!

Crochet Flower Headbands

I have been playing around with crochet flowers out of the new pattern book I got. I had seen on a couple of blogs the crochet flowers put on headbands and had been planning on trying to do that. I wanted to do a crochet headband though, not a metal or plastic one since those don't seem to have a good life span while on the girls. Thanks to Erin for suggesting I do some, it reminded me to actually get them done! Here is what I came up with so far:

I have more ideas and, I've already made one of the thick headbands that are usually knit and selling like crazy all over but haven't put a flower on it yet. I'll post those soon!

Fabric Flowers

We saw some flowers at the quilt show the other day and really liked them, so today Meg and I tried them out. They were very simple to make, and they turned out really cute!

Quilt Blocks

Wahoo! My first post! These are the quilt blocks I have done so far for my ward's quilt group. The technique this month is flying geese. I've only had time to do 4 of the 7 blocks so far, but I love how the turned out!

Bow Hanger

I finally came up with something to hold the girls hair bows. I should have made it bigger. I didn't realize how much space the bows would take up.

T-Shirt Dress

She loves it! It ended up being pretty easy to do. Now I need to start on one for big sister.

Mandarine Capri

They are hard to see, but they turned out pretty well. The shirring behind the knees finally worked.

Cambree's Birthday Quilt

This is the quilt that I made Cambree for her birthday. I bought the kit about a year ago but ran out of time to make it for Christmas. I was so excited about it and happy to get it done. It is the first time I have done machine quilting so that was a fun new experience!

I'm excited now to make a quilt for this little boy who will be joining our family in a couple of months!

Quilting Show

Yesterday Mom and I went to a quilting show in Sandy. There were some really cool things there. We took pictures of the quilts we like the most.

Mom bought the pattern for this one. They had also done one in black and white fabrics, which was cute, but the flowers didn't stand out very much. We liked it in the pinks, reds, and browns better. Some day I want to make this!
This is another quilt that had the same kind of flowers as the other one:

I really liked this one, and it would be so easy to make! The flowers are just appliqued on, so all you would have to do is piece blocks with white sashing, add ric-rac, and add the flowers!

I thought this one looked cute and easy too!

One of the booths had the cutest fabric! I got this bear pirate fabric to make a simple quilt for Brecken. I'm just going to put one piece on front, one on back, add some batting, and quilt it. He doesn't need another blanket, but I loved the fabric!

I also got this fabric. I have no clue what quilt I'll make with it yet, but I loved it! I just got a 1/4 yard of each fabric that was in this line.

We also got this book. It has lots of cute but easy patterns in it (that's what I need). Mom also got another book and a few other patterns, but they're not at my house, so I can't remember what they are, and I can't take a picture of them so show you. So she'll have to do that :)

These are some of the patterns that are in the book:

We also saw the cutest little Dragon quilt. They didn't have a pattern there, but they told us where to get it. It's so cute!

There are lots of other dragon patterns, and even Asian patterns on that website. Someday I want to order some things from them!

$2 T-shirt

I bought a t-shirt at Wal-mart for $2 and then found a coloring page of a train on the internet. I raided mom's fabric closet (hehe) and found some tan fabric, and I cut the outline of the train out of that fabric and wonder under stuff and appliqued it on to the shirt. It turned out pretty cute and Brecken loves it!

Crochet away!

Here is two of the blankets that I have crocheted lately. I crocheted like crazy for a couple of weeks straight trying to get these and others all done.

This first one was for my friend's baby shower. I loved how it turned out.

I wasn't too sure about the yellow ribbon but with Megan's help after texting her a picture, decided it was a go. I knew it was good when Kyle got home and the first thing Kyle said was, "Oh, I like the yellow ribbon on it." Thanks for the opinion Megan!

The next one is for another friend for the blessing day. There were also matching booties with a pink flower on them. I forgot to take a picture of them. OOPS!

More crochet to come! I have been having a lot of fun with crocheted flowers...

Our Craft Blog!

I thought this blog would be a good way for us to show each other the projects and crafts we have been doing, or want to do. We can also share with each other ideas for projects, or links to other websites that have projects we like. I hope you guys like this idea. I'm excited to see what you guys have been making!
