Projects at Amy's house

Megan and I (along with the rest of Meg's family) went to Las Vegas last week to visit with Amy and her family. We had several projects we wanted to do while there. We stayed up late on Thursday night and did some vinyl. I liked this St. Patricks' design.

The SPRING blocks are inspired by ones we saw on a craft blog (I can't remember right now which one it was). We had fun deciding on the papers, embellishments, and the font for the vinyl lettering. I think they turned out cute!

I am not sure these blocks turned out just as I had envisioned them, but it is a new decoration for each of us. I think they needed lighter paper, or something.

This is another project that we came up with ourselves. After several idea changes, this is what we came up with. I like them! We had a lot of fun, and even got SOME sleep. Meg had 3 photo sessions (McKenna's preschool class, a family group, and a newborn baby) and we still got these done, and some shopping, of course. Meg's husband, Jeremy, was our 'nanny' while we did all this. Thanks go to him and to the kids for being so good! Thanks to Amy for letting us take over her house for 4 1/2 days! A good time was had by all, I think...

Valentines Decorations

I made two of these valentine topiaries. It is just squares of fabric glued onto a Styrofoam ball.

This is scrapbook paper and embellishments on a painted 2x4.

You can't tell from the picture, but the hearts are painted with crackle medium so the black shows through from underneath. I just glued the two hearts together, then onto ribbon. I tied the ribbon around an empty frame.

Table Runner

Here is the table runner I did last month. It's just straight with a ruffle at each end.

Block of the month

I signed up to do a block of the month for my Maple Mountain quilt group for March. This is the block I decided to do. I finished the block, now I need to get the directions printed up for everyone. I like it. It would be a fun quilt, maybe doing each block with different colors? Anyway, I am glad to have it ready.

Crown Shirt

I bought this pink shirt on clearance for $2 before Christmas and I finally got around to doing something with it. I raw-edge appliqued on a crown and then sewed on buttons on each point. It's hard to tell in this picture, but the middle button is the biggest, then they get smaller as they go down. It was a quick and easy project!

Felt Play Mats

I made a few felt play mats for the kids last week. I made a pirate one and a pony one. I got the idea for the pony one on a blog I found the other day. Anyways, here they are...

This is the dinosaur play mat that Mom made for Brecken's birthday. It's taken me forever to post it! It turned out sooo cute, and he loves it. She got the pattern for it off of a craft blog. I love how it folds up like a volcano.
