I don't know if anyone besides the four of us with the eight crafting hands actually read what we post, but I decided post my first tutorial. I'm starting with an easy one!

For Halloween, I couldn't decide what to have Trevin be. I thought it would be fun if his costume went along with Dillan's costume. Dillan decided to be a vampire, so Trevin is going to be a bat!

I bought a pair of black fleece pants and this cute black and white onsie:

I wanted something he could wear after too. We'll call it being frugal!

To make the wings, get a sheet of paper, scissors and the onsie. Lay the onsie on top of the paper.

Making sure the sleeve is out to the side as shown in the above picture, trace the side of the onsie and the arm. Trace a reverse scallop shape going between the two end points from you previous tracing. (hope this all makes sense. Keep in mind this is the first time I have done this!)

Cut our your shape which will now be the pattern piece. Put this on your fleece. NOTE: I choose fleece because of the fact that it doesn't fray. It is easy to use and thick enough to hold the shape well. Cut out the fleece using the pattern.

Now you have bat wings! Obviously they don't need to be perfect!

Get a needle and thread. Sew the wing onto the seam of you onsie. I started on the side working up towards the arm. I just did a big whipstitch so that I can easily remove it after. It doesn't have to be permanent, just enough to stay on for the few times he will wear it.

Now, repeat for the other side and then you are finished! Easy right?!?

I hope I did okay for my first tutorial! You've got to start somewhere right? I still need to make a cute little batty hat for him. I will post a tutorial for that as well as soon as I can!

Witch Hat

I made a witch hat for a Halloween decoration. I had seen a few different ones at stores/boutiques and made one. It took me a few tries to get it right, but I finally did it :)

Pumpkin Pillow

I saw a pumpkin pillow made out of felt at JoAnn's and liked it, so I decided to make one. I did it more simple then the one I saw, but I like it. What do you think?

Owl Quilt

Here is the owl quilt I made for my friends baby. I think it turned out pretty cute. Thanks Mom for your help with it!
